Vacations In Manhattan - What To Expect?

Many people think that Manhattan and New York City are one and the same, but in reality, they are two different places. Everyone should get to see New York City in his or her lifetime, but this network of neighborhoods can be intimidating without guidance. Manhattan is only one of the five boroughs that make up New York City.

With all the numerous attractions in Manhattan, it could take you weeks to familiarize yourself with the place. You will want to first be familiar with how you can navigate your way around the city. Make your plans with the weather conditions in mind as most likely you will be doing most of your sight-seeing outdoors.

Since we would not want to bore you with a laundry list of attractions, we shall stick to the obvious - the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Chinatown, Times Square, Greenwich Village, Battery Park, Brooklyn Bridge and the late, lamented World Trade Center.

Oh, there are countless things as well that you can do while in Manhattan, and this would of course involve watching Broadway shows (my personal favorite) or exploring the winery section. The Rockefeller Center would be an ideal place to visit if you are into modern art, and it is possible for one to go on an unguided tour of this historic nineteen story building. Near Riverside Church is the Grant's Tomb National Monument, an austere memento to a darker time in American history, and we would be very thrilled to hear your story if you actually climbed up the Church bell tower to get a glimpse of the city view in all its splendor.

Want more ways to watch your wallet? I got a few good option for you, my friends - try the Museum of Modern Art and its Target Free Fridays which are from 4-8 PM, the Staten Island Ferry, which gives you a chance to see the skyline views while also letting you tour the world's largest Gothic Cathedral (of St. John), and of course, Central Park, because you don't need to pay to see God's master work.

Before heading off to Manhattan, it would be a good idea to do some research on the events that happen all year round, as you can choose a time where your family would enjoy the activities the most. Whether you want to desensitize your children from Bieber Fever by taking them to Broadway or whether taking the entire family out fine dining or reflecting on the realities of life at Ground Zero, you have myriad options that should suit everybody's tastes.

Perhaps you already know that the Manhattan skyline is where you can see some of the tallest buildings in America.
