So you've probably thought of going on a whimsical, magical getaway all year long, and we would not be surprised the slightest bit if Disney World was one of the top destinations in your mind. By gathering the right data and analyzing it accordingly, you could come up with an inexpensive, yet enjoyable package. Why not spend some time comparing vacation packages and weigh the pros and cons?
Disney Packages
With a five day minimum, the starter package gives you the best value in terms of travel options. You may opt to take the kids with you or you may be a younger (or older) copy on their honeymoon. However, what you want to avoid, of course, is throwing your money away on rides and/or activities you didn't enjoy anyway, so it makes sense to do your research and plan everything first.
Downtown Attractions
Here's a treat for those who grew up on Lego, or are growing up on Lego - how about a stroll down to the Imagination Center? You and your kids can enjoy yourself as you gaze at sculptures created purely from Lego, or the kids can run around the 3,000 square foot play area - now that's a whole lot of Lego for them to amuse themselves with!
Musical Fountains
The perfect marriage of sleight of hand and speed of sound can be seen in these magical fountains. But we're not talking about anything that might harm your kids, we're talking about Musical Fountains! Nearby there are free magic shows and they will teach you a few lessons in magic for free also.
Pleasure Island
If you guessed that this is Disney World's more, erm, grown-up side of things, then you guessed right. Also, best of all, it's free during the evening hours! When the kids are tucked into bed, you and the better half can paint the town like adults should, visit the restaurants or go shopping, and while at it, watch the fireworks display nearby! This island wouldn't live up to its name if it hadn't any night clubs, but as the saying goes...no money, no honey - men, don't tell your wives I said that!
Boardwalk
No, the Drifters didn't invent this place. But Boardwalk is a place where you can take your family for some fun, frolic and freebies! Say hi, hullo to the street performers as you and the family take a walk. We're talking wholesome entertainment from ragtime jazzers and professional jugglers. If you want to enjoy live bands and dancing with no cover charge AND no noise, the Atlantic Dance Hall is the place to be.
Monorail
If you have a multi-pass you can ride the Monorail for free. A true favorite for Disney guests, it offers a complete tour of the park and the various attractions.
Cruises
For those where money is no object, you might want to consider a cruise along Crescent Lake and visit Epcot, the Yacht and Beach Club, Swan and Dolphin, and MGM along the way. And as your journey continues on the open water, you have the option to visit the Magic Kingdom, the Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, Ft. Wilderness, and Grand Floridian, among others via boat.
