Los Angeles, California is one of the more beautiful cities of the United States with plenty of interesting sight, beaches and good weather to boot. With its diverse population, Los Angeles is a multicultural city rich in history. Many visitors will find the city relatively expensive, but it should not distract from the fact there are many places worth seeing. Travelers are advised to learn more about the city so they can have a grand time during their visit.
Hollywood Boulevard. One of the most popular attractions in LA, Hollywood Boulevard was once home to the greatest studios and a milieu of popular celebrities and visitors. Now, it is a street lined with pricey souvenir shops and boutiques, as well as generic, expensive restaurants. However, it is worth visiting Hollywood Blvd's walk of stars and Grauman's Chinese Theatre. These are the tourist spots that you can go to without worrying about the expense. You can go there and just walk through the fabled street and gawk at its equally famous sights.
Universal Studios: This is the place to go if there are children along. However, while the rides are amusing, are not as great as they're made out to be. You can go for the ride but just for the experience as it will pale in comparison to Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm which is more worthy of your money. You can have more fun at the aforesaid places and they're less expensive too.
Melrose Avenue. A favorite place for visitors, it is a shopping center and a place to eat in style in expensive restaurants. You would have plenty to do there aside from watching people and keeping an eye out for the occasional celebrity. The odds though are against it unless you are prepared to loiter around for a week or so. What is worse, you might brush shoulders with one and not know it. The bottom line is that you will be extremely lucky to actually see a movie star in a short visit.
Farmers Market. You will have a better time at the Farmer's Market at the Grove when in Los Angeles. Go through its labyrinths of passageways lined with small shops and food stalls and if you are blessed by the stars, bump into a real star. You are much more likely to run into a star randomly going to the farmer's market in Hollywood than Melrose Avenue.
The Grove. The Grove is an interesting place with plenty of stores and food as well as a good place to observe all the people while enjoying food at an outdoor table. People who love shopping will find it an interesting place and will have fun exploring and looking for great bargains. If shopping is not your style or if you just get bored, you can go just down the street to Farmer's Market which one of L.A.'s historic landmarks.
