Preventing Motion Sickness Is An Easy Process

Preventing motion sickness is easier than you may think. All it requires is a little advance planning. And if you wait for the symptoms to manifest themselves before getting treated, then sorry, kid - you missed the bus. Instead, you can one-up them by preventing motion sickness in the first place. So without further ado, here are the plays you need to run to sneak up on that nasty little foe called motion sickness.

The first play you can run when preventing motion sickness would be the Seating Plan - simply plan where you are to sit on the plane, and if you are traveling by car, vehemently demand the driver's seat or you're not going. Really, that's what you want to do (you can always go on the next car trip anyway), and if you are traveling via plane, window seats over the wing are proven winners. For cruise travel, your best option would be a lower cabin situated in the middle part of the ship. These chosen spots will offer the least amount of motion and the greatest likelihood for preventing motion sickness before it even starts.

If you were not able to select one of the "anti-motion-sickness" travel positions mentioned above, you can still prevent motion sickness by taking appropriate medication. Rejoice, as there are a lot of medications available in drug stores that can help combat the symptoms of motion sickness effectively. In this particular game plan, which we simply call the Club Med Plan, it's all about taking the right medications, which are able to block off messages related to motion and relax the stimulation in your inner ear, thus preventing your brain from receiving mixed signals that are at the forefront of motion sickness.

If you are reluctant to take medication because of the side effects (e.g. drowsiness), there are also natural remedies you can use to prevent motion sickness. Try using ginger. It works wonders and comes in many different forms which make it convenient to travel with and to be taken whenever needed. You can take ginger in the form of a bill, suck on it like your favorite hard candy, or drink it in tea form, which I personally recommend - muy delicioso!

Motion sickness bands are another option worth trying. We are referring to motion sickness bands, which are made for those who suffer from motion sickness, natch. They help sufferers of motion sickness through acupressure - and if you're going "acu-what?", it's simply a technique that helps ward off nausea when traveling.

There are many ways to build a better mousetrap, as they say, and many ways to prevent motion sickness. So you don't have to suffer through the misery of travel sickness when you travel anymore. Employ a sound strategy and prepare yourself for the trip. And once you reach your destination, you can catch some rays, catch some Z's, catch a Frisbee on the beach, or catch whatever you could that isn't harmful to others, but definitely not "catch" motion sickness.
