What Is The Safest Seat In An Airplane?

Anxious airplane passengers would like to know what is the safest seat in an airplane. The answer: none. Accidents can happen anywhere in the aircraft.

Being seated near to an emergency exit is safer, and this is what some people believe. They're wrong. Fires can start in any place within the plane, whether it's near the emergency exit or not. The person sitting nearest to the emergency exit is in as much trouble as the one sitting farthest from it if it's jammed.

Being alert and aware of one's surroundings can minimize the risks to one's safety regardless of where the passenger inside the aircraft is seated.

Being watchful and attentive also means being alert. Note the location of all exits. You should also listen to all in-flight and pre-flight instructions. Avoid drinking too much. Use common sense and try not to do anything that will be detrimental to your own safety, as well as to that of others, such as having too many or too heavy carry-on luggage, spilling hot drinks, being careless with pointed objects or things with sharp edges, and the like. Remember, you should always use your common sense.

Airplane accidents are rare, despite the fears and misgivings surrounding air travel. But if one does occur during the flight, it is very important for the passenger to stay calm and not to panic. A highly contagious disease is fear. If panic have been contained in accidents, including land accidents, then many casualties could have been prevented. Thus, in case of an accident, take a deep breath, keep the tone of voice down and follow the line.

The safest seat in the plane doesn't exist. But wherever the passenger is seated, they can choose to make their seat the safest one. It's a mind game to create the sense of safety within one's self.
