Vacation: On Land Or On Water?

Vacation planning is an activity most families take great pleasure in. The day before is what turns the dream into a nightmare. There's so much preparation involved when you vacation by land.

You arrive late to the motel because of a traffic jam, the rooms are full and you're back in the car with tired, crying children. It's the perfect vacation, isn't it? If you had went on the cruise instead of the Grand Canyon, you wouldn't be facing this.

Land trips give you many options to visit. But if vacation means more to you than running from place to place and a different hotel each night, then you need to kick back on a cruise.

You leave the car in the parking lot because you enter a complete town inside a cruise ship. Everything you need is on the ship.

You might be more than a little disappointed when you stay in a low-priced hotel. On a cruise ship, you have an assigned Cabin Steward who is literally on call to meet your needs.

You get new towels everyday too, and it's folded creatively. Whether you book an inexpensive cabin on the lower decks or an oceanfront suite with balcony, you receive the kind of service that's usually reserved for celebrities.

If you vacation by land, you have to deal with each of the activities each person or group want to do. Not everything can be catered. On a cruise, everyone is free to do what they want at their own time.

You pay only once on a cruise ship, and everything else is inclusive. This includes the everyday activities offered by the cruise. You shell out the bucks every time you eat or play something when you travel by land. New passengers are shocked to know that they pay the same amount of money whether they eat gourmet food or hot dogs.

You can eat onboard at any time you please. Cruises are known for lavish Midnight Buffets if you have room to eat after ordering your choice among four to five courses at dinner.

You can also have food delivered to your room. Every meal is an event - whether it's a themed dinner or the dressy dinner on Captain's welcome night.

Remember, you don't have to bring your wallet with you when you dine. The unlimited food is part of the cruise fee. Go and eat your way through the most delicious and expensive dishes imaginable.

The entire cruise fee you pay for your family's vacation would be equal to the amount of money you have to spend on food alone if you have a land vacation. You can go down and look around when the ship stops at different ports.

The cruise director will give you information before you dock at a certain port. You get food, fun, luxury, and new places when you go on a cruise.
