If you're planning a cruise, it doesn't have to be just any old cruise to some exotic port. Today's cruises offer special options such as themes that can turn the cruise into an even more unique experience.

The Disney cruise is probably one of the more famous specialty cruises which may or may not include time at a Walt Disney World resort as part of the package.

Disney cruises offer programs for kids of all ages along with Disney entertainment and spa activities and elegant dining options for the adult family members. For the kids on board the three to eleven day cruise, there are age-specific activities for 9 in the morning until as late as midnight. For the adults, there are lounges, spas and salon facilities as well as private pools and dining. The packages visit the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Alaska, Mexico, the Mediterranean and Northern Europe. You may stay in a resort as a part of your package.

For those who would enjoy themes other than what is offered in the Disney cruise, there are other options available. Singles cruises, cruises focusing on food and wine, health and well-being, history and culture, music, science and the environment, theater and arts, special event and even musicals and performers are among the many options available.

Hosting a series of cruises dedicated to bridge players, meaning they could play all day while their companions enjoy other endeavors, is the Fred Olsen Line. Computers, dancing, golf and antiques are the focus of other hobby cruises.

Whatever your hobby or favorite sport, there's probably a cruise where the participants share your interest and special guests are faces you'll recognize, such as a baseball greats cruise.

When the holidays roll around, there are Passover, Thanksgiving and Christmas cruises, just to name a few. There are special themed cruises hosted by well-known figures, such as Sam Donaldson.

A number of specialty cruises are available for you to do something you'd like to spend several days doing on board a ship with hundreds of strangers who share your interests. The amenities of a cruise - exotic locales, fine food and the open seas combine with your hobby or passion, sounds like the making of your dream vacation.

Not quite that specific in your interests, you can still find cruises geared toward families, honeymooners, groups and tour destinations. It's as easy as searching the internet or talking to a travel agent so that you could find which outlet would best serve your vacation needs.

Specialty cruises sounds like the perfect getaway with a variety of starting points and destinations, knowing that all of your costs are typically included in one package and how easy it is to book.
